If you’re looking for the most technically advanced Yellow hack with the split and repel system and whatnot, this might not be the best for you. But if you want to revisit Yellow with more challenge and fairness, while still keeping the feel old-school, check this out.

Pokemon God of Arena

This is a simple hack which improves the battle system in the game. You get one Eevee at the beginning, and it’s also your only Pokemon. Don’t forget to buy more Pokemon at Pokemon Center.
There’s no story, all you have to do is try your best to win as much as you can in the arena. You get rankpoints when you win, lose rankpoints when you lose. Also, game difficuly is depends on your rank. Like the rules of Wi-Fi battling nowadays, you can only use three different Pokemon with different held items in battles. To learn moves, simply open TM/HM menu. All 250 moves are available and unlimited.

This is much more than a simple graphics hack to add snow. This game takes place the same year as GSC, just later in the year. It assumes that the events of GSC (the radio tower take over, magikarp being forced to evolve, and all that) took place that summer, so the major events will be different, and more winter or holiday themed.

Pokemon Metallic

Description

This hack was meant to recreate the Pokemon Gold experience without changing it drastically. The point was to "correct" some aspects of the game and make the game a bit more exciting with some new features. Most editing went into the evolutions, stats and move changes, but a lot of work went into the map revamping and the wild Pokemon encounters/ Trainer changes as well.
